Dennis Quaid will star in the biopic "Reagan" as former US President Ronald Wilson Reagan, David Henry ("The Teen Magician") as the young Reagan, and Jan Walter also participates, with filming scheduled to start in the fall and be released next summer. Directed by Sean McNamara (Season of Wonders, Soul Surfer) and written by Jonas McCord (Bible Code Warfare, Teen Boys) and Howard Klausner (Space Cowboy, The Power of Forgiveness), based on two autobiographies by author Paul Kengor.
The film will begin with Reagan's childhood, his presidency, the Screen Actors Guild and more, and will also explore Reagan's experience as governor of California, his role in the fall of the Berlin Wall, and his final days of dealing with Alzheimer's disease, as well as John Hinckley Jr., whose fascination with Jodie Foster led him to assassinate the Republican president in 1981.
