Veteran Terry (Samuel L. Jackson) faces an upcoming trial in which he is accused of launching an attack on a crowd of demonstrators during an operation to protect ambassadors, resulting in the deaths of nearly 80 innocent and unarmed civilians. Faced with the accusation, Telly insisted on his innocence, knowing that the demonstrators were not unarmed and that they were the ones who attacked the embassy in the first place.
It didn't take long for Telly to discover that all the signs were that Telly was at a disadvantage. Even before the outcome of the trial was revealed, the government and military appeared to have treated the incident as a scandal, falsifying testimony and erasing all evidence in Terry's favor. Faced with this conspiracy, Terry is not ready to rest on his laurels, and he contacts his former comrade-in-arms, Attorney Hayes (Tommy Lee Jones), hoping to regain his innocence with his help
